A Webinar on
Igniting Minds, Exploring Frontiers :
The
convergence of space, education and Industry was organized –
Subhanshu
Shukla started off with motivating the students –
He encouraged
us to believe in ourselves, to strive to become better version of ourselves and
not always focus on becoming the best.
He had started
his journey by becoming a test pilot, and with consistent improvement become an
astronaut. From space he identified himself as someone from Earth rather than
from some nation.
He talked
about the adoptiveness of human body in space and zero gravity. He shared that
astronauts getting habituated to zero gravity can not easily adjust to Earth’s
environment after returning.
Because of
resource scarcity on the ISS, most of the resources like water are carefully
used and around 98% water used is recycled.
Unlike on
Earth, plants do not grow in a definite direction in the ISS.
Because of the
ISS’s oldest model it does not inherently require AI but now a days AI is used for
data management.
While
returning, because of air resistance and friction, the spacecraft reaches
temperatures of around 4000 ?F.
