Description:

Methodist School, Dankuni had arranged for an educational excursion trip to Odisha with students of class XI and XII ( Humanities) between 20th to 24th September, 2025.

The educational trip had 45 students, ably guided by 5 teachers, namely Mr. A. Chakraborty and Ms. S. Biswas (Geography), Mr. P. Ghosh( History), Mrs. J. Dutta and R. Saha ( Sociology). The tour began on 21st September where the students were taken to Raghurajpur ( around 14 kms from Puri).  They did a field work on socio economic conditions of the pattachitra artisan of the Raghurajpur village, mainly conducted by Geography and History department.

The next day Pipli was visited by the students where they did an extensive survey and field work on the traditional aplique work, the social and economic conditions related to their culture and tradition.

The third day of the trip ended with a tour of Dhaulagiri Santi stupa, Udaygiri and Khandagiri rock caves. The students under their History teacher gathered knowledge of the historical importance of the caves.

On the 24th of September, the entire team returned to Howrah in Shatabdi express where  the parents collected their respective wards, thus ending the excursion with lot of knowledge and lifelong memories.
